Archiving Classes
When a class is no longer active, or when you are finished with a class but still need access to its data, we recommend archiving the class.
When you archive a class, it is removed from your list of active classes, but you still have access to the class and its data. However, you can no longer assign work to the class and students can no longer submit work to that class. Students can still access their past work done for the class.
To archive a class:
- Log in with your individual educator account.
- Click Dashboard at the top.
- Select the class you want to archive. If you don’t see it on the Dashboard, click All Classes.
- Click Class Settings.
- Click Archive.
- Click Archive Class to confirm.
Archived classes will automatically be deleted from our system after two years. We will send an email when we are scheduled to delete a class after two years of being archived. You can always un-archive them if you’re not ready for them to be deleted.
To view archived classes and unarchive a class:
- Click All Classes from the Dashboard.
- Select the Archived Classes tab.
- Click on the class you want to unarchive
- Click Unarchive
NOTE: Students who are only in archived classes will no longer have access to BrainPOP. Students must be part of an active class to access BrainPOP topics and features with their individual student accounts.
Deleting Classes
When you delete a class, you will remove all of its data from your Dashboard. However, students will still have their individual accounts, and all work done in the class will still remain in their accounts.
Be aware that deleting a class is permanent. If you're not sure whether to delete your class, we recommend archiving it instead.
To delete a class:
- Log in with your individual educator account.
- Click Dashboard at the top.
- Select the class you want to delete. If you don’t see it on the Dashboard, click All Classes.
- Click Class Settings
- Click Delete
- Click Next and Delete to confirm.
